Faith is an intensely personal matter. As you read this post, I’d like you to think about where your faith stands at this moment. Before we can think about taking our faith to the next level, we first need to determine the level where we are right now.
To be a Christian, it is necessary to have turned your life over to Christ at some point. There are many terms for making this faith decision: getting saved, accepting Christ as your Savior, being born again, etc. God wants us to have a personal relationship with Him. We can be in very different places as far as that personal relationship goes, but accepting Jesus as the Messiah is the essential first step.
I know that the world out there wants to deny that Jesus is the only way to God, but the Bible is very clear about this truth (John 14:6). We can’t take our faith to the next level if we don’t build it on the foundation of truth as it is found in the Bible.
The right reason for doing good things is as a response. God has given us a great gift. No one can earn his way into Heaven. His only Son Jesus sacrificed His life to make our relationship with God possible. We as people change when we accept this gift, and we want to do something to show it.
Taking our faith to the next level happens as we learn more about God and get closer to Him. It is a lifelong process that never ends. I look forward to sharing with you, my readers, the many ways that God works to bring us into a deeper relationship with Him. I started my journey with God many years ago, and I look forward to seeing what God has in store for me.
